Alan has served a variety of businesses within the healthcare industry. His career on both the client and agency side of the business allows him to bring a unique perspective to each project. In 1990, he founded Blitz + Associates, Inc., specializing in medical education planning and project management services. Clients served include divisions of Baxter Healthcare Corporation (Medication Delivery and BioScience) as well as Bayer Pharmaceutical Division (in conjunction with Lifetime Learning, Inc), Omnicell, Inc., Physician Services of America, and Sigmedics, Inc.

Prior to the formation of Blitz + Associates, Inc., Alan's career in healthcare communications and education included:

Directed strategic marketing communications planning, program development, educational services and meeting planning services. Clients included: Baxter Antec (Division of Baxter Healthcare Corporation); Humana Hospital-Michael Reese National Medical Care, Inc.; and ServiceMaster.

Managed account/client services, including research, strategic marketing communications planning, creative program development, and execution and results measurement. Clients included: Divisions of Baxter Healthcare Corporation; Gambro, Inc.; and American Medical Systems.

Directed and managed all internal and external communications programs and served on the senior administrative staff and strategic planning team. Involvement in all aspects of hospital and clinical operations, working with administrators, physicians, nurses and technicians on public relations and educational programs.

Alan earned his Master of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees in Journalism at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL. He is a member of the American Medical Writers Association, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. In addition, he is a member of the Alliance for Continuing Medical Education and the Illinois Alliance for Continuing Medical Education.

Alan was the first consultant to receive the Baxter Healthcare, Medication Delivery Division Recognition Award, for outstanding service to the corporation. He also was named "employee-of-the-year" at Abelson-Taylor-Fitzsimmons.

Caron Blitz, co-founder of Blitz + Associates, Inc., has a balance of experience in healthcare and financial relations that provides the background necessary to achieve the results clients expect.

With Blitz + Associates, Caron serves as public relations counsel to Cognis Nutrition and Health (LaGrange, IL). She has been instrumental in helping Cognis, and its vitamin research information service, VERIS, become one of the media's top sources for information on health-enhancing ingredients for dietary supplements and foods. Through tradeshows and educational programs, Caron has also helped increase product awareness among key consumer groups, which has resulted in record sales for Cognis. Top management routinely seeks her counsel on a variety of issues, including product positioning, sales and marketing support, and PR-related issues that may impact corporate earnings.

Caron's other corporate experiences include:

Managed account teams, developed long-term communications programs, directed media training, planned and executed media events, managed budgets. Clients included: Citicorp; ABN/LaSalle Banking Group; Checkers, Simon & Rosner; and leading law firms.

Launched new employee publication, developed internal and external crisis communications programs (during period of plant closings and eventual sale of company). Worked with top management in creating employee-incentive programs.

As a member of in-house agency, directed communications programs for the firm's industry groups in healthcare, telecommunications, and agribusiness. Projects included coordinating media relations activities, such as national news conferences, and writing and producing collateral materials.

Caron received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism at Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, IL. While at NIU, she received several awards, including "Outstanding Woman on Campus."
